The super talented group Everclear have released their latest CD on the Capitol / EMI Records recording label, entitled So Much For The Afterglow.
So Much For The Afterglow opens with a great track, So Much For The Afterglow, that I anticipate will be heard on radio stations everywhere, and deservedly so. It really is a very nice track.
So Much For The Afterglow has a nicely varied, mix of 13 tracks that are very well written and brilliantly performed songs by these clearly outstanding musicians. With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Seemingly drawing from what I can only imagine are their own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions of love, and the pain of failed relationships can certainly be heard.
Overall So Much For The Afterglow is excellent from beginning to end. One of those CDs that after a few listens the songs are just etched into your memory. A must have for the Rock fan. Really sensational from beginning to end.
While the entire album is really very good the truly standout tunes are track 5 - I Will Buy You A New Life, track 12 - Why I Don't Believe In God, and track 13 - Like A California King.
My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 - So Much For The Afterglow. Good stuff!
